We spent the afternoon cuddling our new grandson and enjoying spending time with our family.  Congratulations to Brandi’s side of the family – Gramma Brenda & Granpa Cecil (I photographed their wedding three years ago) and Auntie Kendra.  We are thrilled to be a part of their family now as well.

Riley is the 6th great-great grandchild for Gerald Swan of Trenton, Ontario.  Great-great Grandpa is looking forward to meeting our latest addition in June when we will be celebrating his 105th birthday on June 10th.  Riley is warmly welcomed by all of the Swan and Martin clan.

Another special note – Riley shares his birthday with his first cousin, Lincoln Zaremba, who turned 3 on March 5th.  Auntie Jenn and Lincoln will also be looking forward to welcoming our latest addition to the Kenney family as well.

I really want to thank the “good samaritan” in the big black SUV who pulled over to keep other vehicles from running into us.  As well, the OPP officer who was so quick on the scene.  I also really want to publicly thank our tow-truck driver, Rick!  He got us out of the guardrail, hooked up and out of danger very quickly.  (We forgot to tell him the our dog, Leo, was in the cab of the truck) and poor guy – Leo – not Rick, tried to keep him from tying up the steering wheel.  Rick went above and beyond the call of duty by hauling us down to Hwy 9 for the collision reporting centre (at the Park and Ride) – there were a lot of accidents on the 400 on January 3rd.  Instead of dropping us off there and leaving us to our own devices to get home, he drove us home with the truck so we could unload after the New Year’s holiday.  Thanks and big cudos to him and Advanced Towing out of Alliston.

The long and the short of the story – I’ve had whiplash and a concussion (bumped my head on the passenger side window) - and have been unble to really work on any of NightinGail’s outstanding assignments.  I appreciate all of my clients’ understanding about the delays in delivery.  I will be getting back to working on the albums, photo sessions and shoots starting next week.

And on top of this, my mother-in-law is now in the hospital.  She suffered a more severe stroke last Tuesday and is currently resting comfortably at North York General.  She has wonderful nurses and doctors who are doing everything that they can but the prognosis is not good.  She has not been well for some time with limited eyesight and mobility and has suffered a series of small strokes over the past few months.  We are hoping for the best but preparing for the worst which is all we can do at this time.   Your prayers for the family during the next few days and weeks would be most appreciated.

And just because blogs should have photos – and my mother-in-law loves all types of animals — here is Magic (one of my special animal friends from a wedding this summer).. this is for you, Mary Elizabeth!

So without further ado, here are just a few of my favourite images from the third in their series of engagement sessions for their Four Season Signature Guestbook.

Congratulations again, Melissa & John! We cannot wait to photograph your winter e-session complete with snow and your wedding in August 2010 in Collingwood.

Congratulations! Our lucky winners were the Logan family from Bowmanville, ON and they received a two hour on-location portrait session with a 16×20 Canvas Fine Art print as well as their private on-line viewing gallery. As Tim and Rachel had just had a new baby boy around the time of the golf tourney, they wanted to wait until the baby got a bit older so we photographed their beautiful family in October at High Park, Toronto which is a fabulous location for any kind of portraits. Tim and Rachel were also married in the fall so having their family portraits taken in the autumn was also very special.

We had a wonderful time together – playing and photographing – at various locations in High Park. Their boys were absolutely precious and without further ado, here are just a few of my favourites from this Fall Portrait session.

It is so important to make sure that families record those special moments in photographs. Needless to say, a lot of wonderful moments slip by so call us today to book a family photo session and ask for the “High Park” special. We started off the day at the Best Western Hotel in Newmarket meeting with Stephanie, her maids and family for the bridal prep session. We were actually able to capture a few of Scott while he was getting ready before he had to make a ‘fast’ exit with his boys so we could get Stephanie outside for some fun in the sun.

Their ceremony was performed by one of our favourite officiants, Rev. Steven Ongo, who is just a delight to work with and customizes his ceremonies to suit his clients just as he did for Stephanie & Scott.  If you are looking for an officiant with a phenomenal sense of humour, you need to get in touch with Rev. Steven!

Stephanie & Scott got right into the swing of things and we just had a ball capturing their day. After all, NightinGail is the “photographer for happy people” and we are definitely “passionate about weddings.”  We absolutely adore capturing those intimate moments when our couples don’t think there is a camera within shooting distance… ahaaa.. gotch ya! 

The interior of Kings Riding Golf club is stunning with a lot of nooks, fabulous furniture, colours and decor for creating beautiful wedding images.

My second shooter, Michelle, and I had an interesting experience at this wedding.. we had to be rescued by the matron of honour when our golf cart broke down during the photo shoot out on the links. A first for us, but great fun!

I met Bradley and Meghan just a couple of weeks before their wedding and durimng our initial consultation, it became really apparent that this terrific couple were so much in love with each other and with the great outdoors!  Because of their love of cottage country, they selected to hold their ceremony at the Wigamog Inn which is an absolutely beautiful old country inn.  After the ceremony, we popped down the road to the Willow Beach Cottages for some fun in the sun portraits.  There were so many phenomenal images from their day I have selected just a few of my favourites of this amazing autumn wedding.

Bradley & Meghan chose the Thanksgiving weekend to “get hitched” because they were so very thankful for their families and wanted all to share in their day.

Congratulations on having a really fun wedding and for allowing NightinGail Photography to capture your precious memories of your day!

We had a fabulous model (Glen’s receptionist – Laura) who really got into the swing of having ten photographers all taking photos at the same time. Laura was amazing and came through the afternoon session with unimaginable grace and good sportsmanship!

And being Bambi’s NUMBER ONE fan, I just had to have a photo taken with her. She was so gracious and allowed us to all have a photo with her if we wanted to.

In addition, I met a number of new photographer friends who came from as far away as Buckhorn, Ottawa, and even Hong Kong. It was a pleasure to meet all of you and I really look forward to chatting with you on FB or Twitter.

The purpose for the session was to have the family together and take some portraits as most people let time slip by without documenting these important moments.  As well, the birthday boy and his “love” are in the process of merging their families and moving into a new home sometime in the spring.  What a great opportunity to get those beautiful wall canvases for their new home of their new family.
