Bambi Cantrell, at the request of Glen Flett, came to Burlington, ON this past Monday for a workshop. As soon as I heard that she was coming, I knew that I had to be there. Bambi is one of the world’s most recognized wedding and portrait photographers and her style has been admired by many including me for many years. I have attended a webinar that she put on last fall and it was something that really changed my approach to photographing people. Having the chance to watch Bambi photograph and have her explain how to see the light, how she works when photographing a wedding, what she looks for for those extraordinary images and then actually having her help me with some posing, share her methods and business practices… well, I came away with my mind absolutely reeling and wanting to shoot a wedding like the next day!!!

We had a fabulous model (Glen’s receptionist – Laura) who really got into the swing of having ten photographers all taking photos at the same time. Laura was amazing and came through the afternoon session with unimaginable grace and good sportsmanship!

And being Bambi’s NUMBER ONE fan, I just had to have a photo taken with her. She was so gracious and allowed us to all have a photo with her if we wanted to.

In addition, I met a number of new photographer friends who came from as far away as Buckhorn, Ottawa, and even Hong Kong. It was a pleasure to meet all of you and I really look forward to chatting with you on FB or Twitter.

I was in the 2nd day group.. along with Charalynne (Serenditpity Photography), Joel (Joel Robertson Photography), Krista (Edison Photography), Sandra (Sanda Riger), Dave & Charlotte (David Biesse Photography) were just a few of my friends in attendance.. along with Patti Miller (Patti Miller Photography) who had the greatest RED shoes I’ve very seen. Patti.. I WANT them.. but in MAGENTA…

Listening to [b]‘s frank discussion of marketing and work process was absolutely amazing… watching him work with everyone was really something to see. And the best part, he took head shots of everyone there (can’t wait until he gets back home in Orange County from New York so we can get our copies!!)
