We met Kaley and Jamie a couple of years ago when they were looking for a reasonable wedding package with a photographer who goes with the flow and makes sure that their dreams are translated into wonder images from their wedding day. Thanks for talking me into it… my favourite spot is in the middle part of the car. The front is too much of a rush when you look down that 100 foot drop and the back gives too much of a fish-tail for my liking. But the middle is JUST right.

More sneak peaks from our June events coming next week.

And I have my whole weekend planned out… cleaning the house, getting the flower beds ready for planting, making pasta salad for Keeton’s 3rd birthday party at Heather & Eric’s on Sunday. It will be great to see old friends from People’s Church who are making the trek to Barrie!

I also need to make time to thoroughly clean out my car and that will probably take the whole afternoon on Saturday so hopefully it won’t be raining.

It’s been a pretty hectic week and I really haven’t posted much of anything. But.. the good news is that my sister got her CT results back and it was NEGATIVE!!! Plus today is her birthday so I’m wishing her the best of the best for this very special day. Wish I could be with you this weekend and I miss you!

I also will be working on Holly & Adam’s wedding images as they get back from their honeymoon on Sunday and the “sneak peak” will be on Monday. But here’s 1 .. a tease… just in case they’re browsing from Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Twelve hours later .. flying from Fort Meyers, Florida to Houston, Texas and finally back to Toronto. Since I love to fly.. it was great except I had a first time flight on a commercial airline that only held 57 passengers and when we landed in Toronto, we had to climb down those stairs on a truck and walk across the tarmac. Interesting.

Don, Leo and I had an interesting time on the drive down to Florida. We had made a stop in West Virgina at a look-out spot and I was asked to take some photos of a group of bikers who were touring the area. Turned out that they are from Barrie, Oro Township, Innisfil and Brampton… we had to drive all that way to meet people from our home town. Sorry, no photos from NightinGail — I used all their cameras — a variety of point-and-shoots, a pretty nice Sony and, of course, somebody had a Nikon. What can I say! I still love my Canons.

We toured the Fort Myers area and just enjoyed our time. I will leave it to Don’s blog to tell you all about his adventures with real estate agents, noisy neighbours at the hotel and having to stop because it was raining so hard that the windshield wipers couldn’t take it away quick enough. We also saw a herd of wild boars (otherwise known as pigs) run across the road this morning when Don took me to the airport. He will be back later this week after a leisurely drive home with Leo.

My friend, Shiri (and fab second-shooter) picked me up at the airport and then off to the GO to go home. After a very interesting ride on the GO bus (which I hadn’t taken before), I finally walked in the door. Whew.. glad to be back home.

More later.. I’m really tired and I have a lot to do this week… consultations, album design and Holly and Adam’s wedding on Saturday. And we are really really looking forward to being a part of their celebration in Brampton, Ontario.

Florida.. here we come. The bags are packed and in the car, Leo (our furry child) has all his paperwork and his bed in the back, and Don is getting anxious to get on the road. It’s a fast trip because we have lots to do in a very short time.

So we wish everyone a “Happy May 24 Weekend”.. have lots of fun and drive carefully.

When I get back.. a photography seminar, three wedding consultations for 2009-2010, dinner with my friend, Rosemary, wedding on Saturday and engagement session in Mississauga on Sunday. A VERY VERY busy week…

Alise contacted me about a week before their first year anniversary. She popped by the studio and we had a nice chat. She was looking for something different for an anniversary gift for A.J. and decided that our photography style was just what she was looking for. We booked their session and set out for Heritage Park in Barrie. In spite of the construction and lack of flowers (it’s a bit early), we had a blast down at the waterfront. Here are a few of my fav’s from their session.

We took a drive up to the lake a few weeks ago and ended up with some interesting animal-life near our cottage at Little Kennesis Lake (Haliburton, ON).

And on the way home.. a large animal reserve that we were not aware of .. and, of course, there are no photos of me jumping out of the car with my Canon 7MP Point & Shoot camera in the pouring rain to capture these animals.

And, last but not least, the guardian llama who was not at all happy about me being so close to the fence… It spit .. and it missed me!!! Yippee!!

Kristen and Lonny have approved their wedding album design which is one of our most popular selections–a 9×12 vertical with a photo cover. They have also added two parent albums which are duplicates of their original. We photographed at Kristen’s parent home in Fenlon Falls and then off to the church for a wonderful ceremony, back to Kristen’s parents home for the formal photo session and then off to Bethany for drinks and the reception.

We’ve had the opportunity to shoot some of the Barrie Men’s Hockey League games this past week at the new Innisfil Sports Complex. If you haven’t been out to see a game..it’s really good local hockey. Both Don and I enjoyed the games very much.
